FixEvolutionGlitch

FixEvolutionGlitch is an ASM Patch by Anonymous. It is located under the Bugfixes tab in Patches -> ASM.

This patch fixes the evolution glitch that freezes the game when attempting to evolve a pokémon whose name has 10 characters.

Important:

The EU version of the game does not have this glitch. As such, the patch is incompatible with EU ROMs.
The JP version of the game does have this glitch, but it cannot occur under normal circumstances, due to names being limited to 5 characters.
