Effect.bin

Effect.bin is a file that contain various WAN animation.

Of particular notes are the sprites in the range 260 to 269, containing WANs that render using the 3D engine, allowing for semi-transparency.

Of those:

• 260 and 261 are for Skuntank and Koffing's noxious gas combo (acting scene m10a0301). Uses effect ID 639.
• 262 is for the arch of light that accompanies the Passage of Time (m19b1001). Uses effect ID 640.
• 264 and 265 are fading in Japanese game logos that were intended for the Time and Darkness intros respectively. Uses effect IDs 659 and 661.
• 266(?) is for the glowing Brine Cave wall pattern (m23a1003). Uses effect ID 668.
• 267(?) is for the blue glow from the left side of the screen after the partner activates the Rainbow Stoneship (m25a0302). Uses effect ID 653.

The others are currently unknown.
